Aspen Chairman Appointed to the Business Advisory Council and the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission

OKLAHOMA CITY, March 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Aspen Group Resources Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: ASPG) (Toronto: ASR), today announced that Jack Wheeler, the Company's Chairman and CEO, has been honored with an appointment to the National Republican Congressional Committee's Business Advisory Council and named as a member of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission's (IOGCC) Legal and Regulatory Affairs Committee.

The Business Advisory Council, Chaired by Rep. Tom DeLay (Republican - Texas), Majority Whip of the United States House of Representatives, is composed of business leaders from each state and is charged with the responsibility of advising the Republican leadership on issues affecting small business. Mr. Wheeler is expected to play a crucial role in the Republican Party's efforts to involve top business people from the State in the process of government reform.

"Mr. Wheeler, who has long supported Republican ideals, particularly debt reduction and tax reform, will be a key member of the Council," stated Representative DeLay.

The IOGCC represents the governors of 30 oil and natural gas producing states in the United States. Seven states are associate members and five international affiliates have been accepted into the organization. It promotes the conservation and efficient recovery of domestic petroleum resources while protecting health, safety and the environment. The IOGCC plays an active role in Washington D.C., serving as the state's voice on oil and natural gas issues and advocates the state's rights to govern resources found within their borders. The commission is known internationally for its significant contributions to oil and natural gas regulation and conservation practices.

Mr. Wheeler has been appointed to the IOGCC's Legal and Regulatory Affairs Committee. "There are numerous critical issues surrounding the states' responsibilities regarding the regulation of oil and natural gas production," stated Oklahoma's official representative to the IOGCC, Carl Michael Smith. "I am confident that Jack will ably assist the membership over the next few years."
