irs.gov

The IRS does not except credit cards directly, but you can use a third party to do the deed. Expect to pay a surcharge...

I looked into it the first year is was offered. I get 1% back on my discover card, but the extra charge was greater then 1%.

Yeah, they do, except you are doing the deal through an independent company which slaps on a fee like they do to merchants. Of about 2.5%. So no way this is going to work out from a money making scheme view unless you are setting up a personal bankruptcy and want to shift non dischargeable debt to dischargeable debt. But given the lookback provisions and new bankruptcy law, you will probably get screwed on that, too. So forget the dumb idea. -g-

Though I suppose it might be better to shift the hunters if you are going to stiff everyone and go "underground". I'd rather have VISA after me than the IRS. -LOL!
