I agree with you about the book value confusion. What you see w/r/t RBAK seems to be happening at a number of acquisitive equipment vendors, just as it was happening at dotcoms trading around $5, with book in the 20s. People need to distinguish between tangibles and intangibles. Will the new FASB proposals eliminate this problem? Obviously, many small investors are confused.

Adam,

I'm not blaming pooling for misleading shareholders.

I'm simply saying that I don't think 95% of investors gave a rip about valuation or accounting in the 1990's.

Good post, Adam. Not only that, but the companies Cisco buys have products that become obsolete in less than two years. So having goodwill for the companies on the books for 20 years is a joke.
