Mucho, RE: Certainly some articles at the sites I mentioned greatly improved my understanding of Cisco's financials--an understanding I don't think I could have gained simply by looking at SEC filings myself, as I lack the accounting expertise. The articles and chat postings at grantsinvestor by Robert Tracy were particular helpful. I would note that Tracy is a CPA.

I guess the one thing I keep going back to is that CSCO's financial picture and their financial statements are a lot clearer than a whole host of other companies that essentially are intentionally trying to deceive investors. This goes on a whole lot than the SEC would like to admit. I haven't seen the actual intent to deceive at CSCO like I have in a whole host of other circumstances. In fact, when you look at CSCOs two largest competitors, LU and NT, there's a whole lot more fuzzy math there than at CSCO.

Yes, agreed. Important for individuals to do DD.

CSCO has made it easier than many. Very clear.

It's those that don't even bother to read what's there that amaze me. I have no accounting expertise. Learn as I go. I find these boards great sources. Plenty of corrective advice readily offered.

Some less helpful than others, but like a buffet, you don't have to eat it all.

John.
