Coolie: So the spring will be a little late.

1. Shorts are frantically covering. Short position as of:

February 28, 2001: 690,976
March 15, 2001: 397,503

That is down by 293,473 shares in two weeks. The large block today was probably another covering. It might be done as of today.

2. When Q1 earnings come out, we will for the first time have complete 4 quarters since the HHLA-SHNOS integration. That means the 2000Q1 results, affected by the restructuring costs will be replaced in the 12 months trailing earnings by a solid profit.

3. I wish Ihor told us a little more about the size of the discovery this week. I assume there will be a press release on the debt repayment. No more bondage?

Cooliemon:

The snow is almost gone in Calgary. That's about the time when the oil traders stop worrying about the current heating season and start worrying about the next.

Last year, Brent spent most of April under $24. Today, it is at $26. And that is after the Yankees devoured 30 million extra barrels from the strategic reserve. Wasn't there a one year limit to return it back? By next fall?

Any takeover gossip filtering down through the CIA intelligence grapevine?
