so gst. here we see japan doing many things right, but nevertheless stagnating for 10-15 years now. i personally suspect that it's intransigence wrt its internal economic issues is fueled largely by its aging population and its refusal to harm just such folks who fueled the post-WW II econ boom to begin with. but of course within a few decades or less, that should no longer be a factor.

so then do you think japan will pull itself out of its econ rut? or is there something even more systemic that's the problem?

ps. have always wanted to know what puts bread on your table. to better put such great posts in context. :)
