RE:"I think I may have everyone on our team pretty much convinced to not raise VC capital at this time"

I figured this was your concern.
Wait a few months for the dust to settle. In the mean time don't stop with the development end. You have to be ready for when the time is right...and that will be when everyone else is reaching for the maalox.

Amy, RE: What types of things are used to fix an investment bust induced recession?

Well, we're kind of talking about uncharted waters here.

Most historical references are so different from out current circumstances to be dang close to irrelevant. Note that the fix for the most recent US investment bust recession was World War II. Thankfully, things are different enough now to hopefully not require this solution.

But the environment that exasperated that slowdown provides a good lesson. A number of foolish moves by our government (Smoot-Hawley was only one of them, but it gets the most press now) really made the malaise worse.
My main hope now is that our government stays the heck out of the way and lets the free market work its way through the cycle.
