SB,

I noticed that people (today it was not insitutions) were buyign Amzon stock apparently for two reasons. One is Bezos repeated this morning on CNBC that Amazon will show a proforma profit in Q4 2001. I alse read Bezos explained that proforma profit is really a true profit??

The other is the rumors that Amazon is trying or is other extablished retailers are courting Amazon.com as a partner. All of the source of this speculation and rumor came from Amazon itself and none of the possible partners.

Best Buy really has a good on-line dual channel site so I personally doubt they have need or desire to do anything with Amazon. Let's say I am incorrect and they make a deal and Amazon obtains some small percentage of sales and some fee for handling the on-line electronics divsion. How in thw world is this ever going to make a dent in their debt? In addition, to receive these fees, Amazon has to write all this content, physically handle the product both coming in and out and the cost of doing this is likely more than their cut I believe. I can't be sure because the Toys R Us deal terms are not known so I have no clue how much revenue Amazon receives for the service Amazon provides to Toys R Us nor do I know how much it costs Amazon in labor to handle the product, the web content and customer service.

By the way, one more month until Amazon has zero working capital.
