Well, I suppose that an analogy to Buddhism could be crafted, whereby so long as the correct way is followed it isn't the ends but the means that count... but then, Buddhism doesn't have true gods either <g>

Even so, science is ultimately forgiving of iconoclasts - so long as they can be 'proven' right, by others or events... religions tend not to change thus.
