That's not median household income. Furthermore, for housing, it's more appropriate to use the two-earner household median income or at least one where there is a husband and wife. Those statistics will also skew since many of those in the income sample will be retired homeowners who've been living there for decades.

In any event, there's no recession as I've been saying. People are screaming bloody murder since (1) they overextended credit as in borrowing on credit cards amd home equity lines, and in lending to CLECs and ISPs, (2) they have to divert more of their disposable income to pay for basic goods and services such as utilities, gas, food, and personal services, and (3) they overextended their spending on high-end goods such as luxury vehicles, vacation homes, etc. on the basis of investment funds. Greenboink is working on reinflating the consumption bubble even beyond where it's at.
