No, just one Chris, the questions was "as a general principle..." so I am talking about the overall principle not the specific applications which would have to consider both the general principle and the possible practical consequences.

I would say as a general principle I would be against such laws at least for adults.

My answer is perhaps obvious: I wish for world one, and absolute freedom. But what we have is world two, and IMO people don't have the right to be stupid and expect me to pay for it.

I agree that people don't have a right to be stupid and expect you to pay for it. I submit the problem is in the expecting you to pay for it. More importantly it is in the forcing you to pay for it. But its just as wrong to control someone from taking risks that don't harm others, as it is for them or a third party to force you to pay for the consequences.
