I do not want to see anyone suffering no matter how stupid or careless they were. I do not want to see anyone starve no matter how lazy they are. The way I see it, one way or another people are going to need support when they hurt themselves. If they sue a company they pass the cost along to me. If the government supports them they pass the cost along to me. I am not willing to live in a society where people go begging or indigent- so it really doesn't matter whether they get their money from the government or from a corporation. Therefore tort reform is sort of a non-issue for me. The best result is that people are prevented from being careless in the first place. This is merely my personal preference- I don't think there is any "right" answer here- it merely depends on what you like, and how you want to live.
