Wireless service in China is, of course, a totally different experience than in Japan. The Chinese are "frugal" in their patter of use. It is only a way to bypass their fixed line system which is not so good. In Japan, mobile phones are a form of entertainment. I called some people in China last night. The first person I called laughed with me because I got through on his wireline phone. I tried him on his cellular first, but his battery was dead -- I told him I would send him a new battery and then he would be in big trouble because I could call him whenever I want -- more laughing. We talked for about 30 minutes on his regular phone. If it had been his mobile phone he would have been short and to the point -- 3 to 5 minutes -- to minimize the usage, no time for laughing. The average Chinese person has nothing in income or savings compared to the average Japanese person. The ratio on income is huge. Have you been to China?? You are right about what they have a ton of.
