It reminded me of the old question: How can Amazon make money by selling books at a loss? Easy, volume.

At first, CDMA couldn't work, then they invented it, then WCDMA has nothing to do with CDMA, now the catch phrase is "ecomonies of scale." It seems a pretty thin reed to hang their hopes of getting back some of that 100 Billion dollars in spectrum costs.
