Hollywood will always be Hollywood. It has always been about excess, glitz, and hedonism. I believe that a good number of Hollywood celebrites support charitable causes, but you are right that a lot of money is wasted that could be doing good. But then again, Bill Gates has a $100 million mansion, Larry E spent $27 million on his backyard, etc etc. Just how many jets do you need? Actually, I like the obvious influence that Melinda Gates has had on her husband. We are finally seeing a 'philothropic Bill', something I never would have thought possible.
