Excardog -look at oil vs. gas decline-

In your pointer to the Railroad commission info -

>>When one starts to look over the depletion rates in Texas for example:http://www.rrc.state.tx.us/divisions/og/information-data/sta...
One starts to get a funny feeling that we are closer to a serious problem then any of us understands.

Gas has declined a few percent, oil down about 20% -

With 80% of the rigs drilling for gas, this is an expected result..

Interesting how we shift from an electricity shortage to a gas shortage to an oil shortage
(and maybe a refinery shortage too)

if the world economy recovers, or something happens in the
Middle East, we could have a very nasty oil shortage...maybe some opportunities in
stocks that are weighted toward oil or both oil & gas (Apache)

To fix this decline problem, we will need a lot more drill rigs - maybe 500 more ? and it looks like
we may only add 150-250 rigs in the next year

The good news for those of us on this thread is that there will be new opportunities in the energy area for years...
