IBM joined the PowerPC alliance, then refused to let go of OS/2, thereby killing any chance of success for PowerPC.

IBM fabbed for Cyrix, and sold parts to customers for the same price as they sold to Cyrix. This made it hard for Cyrix to stay in business.

IBM fabbed for AMD and AMD bailed before IBM had the chance to screw them. Same for IDT.

IBM has a very bad reputation as a partner in this industry.

I am not that familiar with the OS2 fiasco, but doubt it really had any effect on the success of PowerPC. My impression is that IBM screwed themselves more than anyone else in the handling of OS2.
A fabbing agreement will specifically indicate what can be done or not done with someone else's design. Do you honestly think IBM could have peddled someone else's design for less money to customers without it specified in the agreement? I know for AMD (probably true for the others) that they only wanted to accept the very fastest parts from IBM
(parts they could not fab themselves). In the case of AMD, they got the absolutely fastest parts (at no risk to themselves) for a very cheap price from IBM Microelectronics and then AMD turned around and sold those same parts back to IBM Personal Systems Division (for a good price) to put into IBM PCs. It seems to me IBM was an early adopter and backer of AMD chips. I don't see this as IBM screwing AMD.
I was present and to an extent participated in the IBM technology agreements over the last 6 years with Toshiba,Siemens, and UMC. I always thought IBM got the short end of the agreements (they were selling their technology far too cheaply....almost giving it away) I can't believe any of these companies would claim (and they haven't) to have been screwed. Quite honestly, I think you are simply full of crap.

RE:"IBM fabbed for Cyrix, and sold parts to customers for the same price as they sold to Cyrix. This made it hard for Cyrix to stay in business"

The agreement was that IBM would fab for Cyrix for 1/2 the production. When things got tight. IBM undercut Cyrixs prices and took the profit right out from under Cyrix.

You are right about IBMs partnering being a bit questionable.
