I can't agree more. The new group of schmucks are probably in the pre school right now. They will be in college when all is forgotten about the bear because we will be in a bull market and they will never really understood the bear we're going through. When the 2070 bear strikes, I'll be grizzly in nature and no one will listen to a 90 year old. They'll call me senile like Buffet. -vbg-

I feel like I have enough cash now where if I can do decent gains over the next 4-5 years I can have a decent shot of legit retirement to play the markets full time. I think buy writes will be the best way to go as the market bottoms, but that may be a while off, although a few techs are entering long territory, and barring a real big rally that lasts, will be ripe for buy write by year end. So far I've only done buy writes on INKT. I'm getting killed on the short term calls I sold, but I did do a 5K buy write on the '03 $5 call where I only had to put up $2 per share last week. I figure no matter how bad it gets $5 should be 1X sales by then so I'd think I have a decent shot of getting the shares called away. If not, I'd still own the stock under $5. I know what they do and know no one else can do it so they're worth at least $5 (even with the big amount of outstanding shares). Possibly a good buyout target if they really drop more or don't bounce any time soon, which should be over $5 no matter what. I've capped my gain potentials. But shit, 150% in 22 months?? We'll see if I end up with $25K or not. If it bounces to $20 I could probably close out for $20K on what I'd lose in the premium. We'll see how I do come jan 2003. ;-) I figure why not, diversify into many sectors and many stocks under the same conditions and you should be able to outperform the Spoo over the next 5 years. This is of course you know how to call bottoms, which for now I'm using as below book value (inkt at 6 3/4). Haven't found anything else yet, but have my eyes on a few......
