gfs: It is very important to note that the market is moved not by retail Investors but by Brokerages/Money centred banks and their Mutual funds.

I sense that equilibrum has been reached . The Brokerages having reduced their stock portfolios are now in a predicament. By taking the market downfurther by heavy shorting they will only increase their risk as they have to cover on the up side as the supply from Funds is now small.

In the absense of large retail Sellers, taking down the NAZ /S&P from these levels serves no useful purpose to big Money if they have to cover the same stock at a later date at a higher price.
