Long term buy and hold investment strategy requires 30 year performance of stock price and dividends. It is a selection of management and specialist combination that you can trust. Long term maximum gain investment requires 5 year performance projection. That includes economical(population) and technological(computer science and productivity) advancement. Past 5 year charts will help, but the dangers(bad news or large brokerage shorts) have to be on the watch, each and every day. Just looking to make the weekly pay check, requires micro technical analysis and "minute to minute" overbought-oversold analysis. Daytrading tools if you will. You start with cash and end the day with only cash. Take out the surplus cash for your paycheck. Good luck with all your investments.
