Most college campuses, for a reason I can't quite fathom, other than the connection between academia and government, are saturated with PC. I must say I never gave any thought to why colleges went PC. Perhaps government funding comes with non-discrimination strings. Or they may have just needed a speech code, much like a dress code, so they'd have grounds for disciplining trouble makers. Or they may just have been trying to keep the peace among various groups. Or it may have started as court ordered remediation. Don't know. Do you? Karen
