Are you serious? Have you seen the projected PC sales? DELL is done -- forget about it. They will get in a price war just to maintain mkt share. INTC is also saying that the recovery will not come soon. MSFT is cutting costs just to keep up with projections (look for MSFT to warn soon).

Tech is dead money for at least a year.

Tony, Tech companies that more directly related to consumer confidence are the wireless carriers or the PC stocks. Consumer confidence uptick is only positive for this sector.
Spending on a computer or cell phone for corporations is an easier decision than to get buy new routers. Spending freeze is first going to be relaxed in areas where less capital is required..software, pc etc.

I do think Dell stands alone in the PC sector...lower component costs leading to better profits for Dell as they have only 5 days of inventory...all time low for them...and they did it in a lousy market.

The infrastructure companies like NT and Cisco will have a harder time than their own customers such as WCOM, T, the baby bells etc.. Those companies are going to do pretty well while the networkers compete with each other to get the contracts. Lower prices for the carriers can only mean good things for them in the intermediate term. Smaller competitors (clecs) are having difficulty in this market.

To me the carriers, wireless companies, and PC are the place to be in tech. I think MSFT, DELL have much more visibility than we are lead to believe. Intel has a problem due to pricing and competition but not Microsoft. Dell benefits in tough environments for PC companies.
