Interestingly, I think that is one of the reasons that this region is so strong. I've read several times that the Minneapolis population is made up of over 80% Minnesota born and raised residents. That is a phenomenal number for a city this size.

if you talk to the moving companies they will tell you that not many people are outbound freight. It is always incoming. You can get quite a good deal on moving out of Mpls so they don't have to deadhead.
