More striking to me though is how the total expenses
declined in FY01-Q1 from the average for FY00-Q2-Q4.


Nice catch....

I dont know if it has any significance, but the jump corresponds to the sale of the handset division to Kyocera. Just brainstorming....but where is Qualcomm showing the expenses related to the design teams that are supposed to be working for Kyocera? Of course, if that was the answer, we would have to ask ourselves why the expenses dropped last quarter....

Maybe a call to IR might be in order?
