I agree. That's a hell of an Achilles' Heel to have when the other parts are pretty damned good. Kind of like the heart problem that threatened to stop Holyfield 8 or 9 years ago - long before he beat Tyson, et al.

Agreed, a shame..

All the more reason his trainers should work on his DEFENSE
so he doesn't just stand there and take the blows.

I think, with an improved defense, maybe a la the Diva's
idea of brushing the punches off with his shoulder, Gatti
could increase his chances of being back on top.
He's an entertaining fighter, and we all love the Rocky-ish
demeanor.

I say Gatti line up 3-5 tune up fights over the next year and a half or so, work his buns off to improve his defense,
then jump back in the game for another decent payday. A guy
like him deserves a few reasonable paydays.
