BetaMax was better than VHS, too.

It's a development worth watching, for sure. Whether or not they can penetrate the market will be interesting. I'd watch for a buy-out if it's that good.

I like Gilder (I'm a subscriber), but he's a tad bit out of touch with reality.

I am trying like hell to keep an open mind about BlueArc, but the hype keeps getting in the way. The explanations for what "it" is are limited to what "it" isn't. It isn't a PC hardware architecture. RAM causes bottlenecks on current technology..yadayadayada.

Using custom programmable chips solves what problem? How have they eliminated memory (how do you operate on data if you don't put it in memory, for Pete's sake?)

So much noise, so far. No benchmark data.

Wait and see, skeptically.
