VANCOUVER, B.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 14, 2001--Global Light Telecommunications Inc. (``Global Light'') (AMEX:GBT - news) reports that its affiliate, Bestel, S.A. de C.V. (``Bestel'') has announced its results for the three months ended September 30, 2001.

Bestel reported that revenue during the three months ended September 30, 2001 was US$25.9 million representing a 223% increase over revenues of US$11.9 million for the 3rd quarter of 2000. Bestel also reported that EBITDA for the third quarter was US$8.7 million. Revenue for the nine months ended September 30, 2001 was US$62.6 million and EBITDA for the nine month period was US$13.2 million.

Mauricio Tena, Chief Financial Officer of Bestel, said that Bestel has reached an agreement with Telmex regarding special projects charges. The agreement involved a payment for the initial recovery amount which has been made primarily through non-cash items, reduced interconnection and resale rates retroactive to January 2001, future interconnection charges per interconnection minute, and a cash payment of US$2 million to be paid to Telmex over a period of three and one-half years. Mr. Tena also reported that Bestel has the required resources for the interest payment on its 12 3/4% Senior Discount Notes due 2005 payable on November 15, 2001.
