mike, grace's income does not figure into macro productivity improvements. only revenues. those displaced workers would have been able to go out and increase someone else's (or their own) revenues. non manipulated gdp growth shows they didn't. they got work due to low unemployment... but revenues didn't go up much at all.

so, they manipulated the numbers up and fabricated the new it driven economy.

Grace, I assume these technological advancements have reduced your costs of providing goods/services to your clients. Hopefully these gains would be reflected in your income. Mike

This depends on Grace's competitive advantage. If her business is due to products and services that are superior to any existing competition, then she should be able to both enjoy improved margins and supply more customers (if they exist) without having to hire additional help.

If her market doesn't assign extra value to her specific product or service, then it may be that the new equipment is available to all sufficiently solvent competitors, and may attract new competitors. This would result in lower prices for the products and services and increased income may depend on the elasticity of demand resulting in more customers at the lower price.

Hopefully Grace will address her perception of her market and her pricing strategy.

Regards, Don
