I do propose that the uneven playing field be leveled somewhat. Then, those who choose WILL have the opportunity at hitting the same patch of luck that you and I did.

Do you have any inkling of what this would mean, let alone how it might be done, or are you simply mouthing platitudes?

My point was that many who are at the top of the heap did NOT get there because of hard work, but purely the luck of their birthplace.
And the fact is that MOST millionaires in this country earned their wealth themselves; they did NOT inherit it.

And but let me ask you another question: Considering all the humans on this planet, where do you stand in terms of wealth and income? Top 1%? Top 2%? Where do those American poor you speak of stand? Top 5%? Top 10%? Did they earn their distinction by their own labor?

Why stop this leveling at the US border? Let's take all of the wealth of the US and use it to build schools and colleges and industries in the third world. Why should we have this if they do not?

Maybe because we earned it?
