Ca. is part of the union, but it does not deserve access to or leverage on the pockets of the other 49 states.

Since we are such a burden on you, would you write to your congresperson to let California cecede from the union?

I am sure the money we save from the huge fed taxes relative to other states will more than offset any energy problems.

It raises taxes on industry

Then woo them to your state and offer them good reliable power. We didnt invite them here in the first place. they chose to be here. And they can choose to leave as well.

DM, The State Congressman who is responsible for writing the legislation serves the district where my business is located. Starting last June when we first saw what this was going to mean in $ I and countless others started calling. As of this moment I have still not even gotten an answering machine in his local office. The phone just rings and rings.

As far as not believing it's soon to be a national problem.... I'm going to tell AMCC not to sell it's chips outside of California unless they go to international buyers. And furthermore, I'm taking my Cisco, Intel, and Qualcomm home and I'm not playing anymore.

Before you get too upset about the other 49 states paying for CA, I would carefully check your figures on what percent of federal revenues are sourced from CA, and what percent of federal expenditures are destined for CA.

CA has a GDP of about $1 Trillion, which by rough math is just over 10% of the US total. I would expect that federal revenue is commensurate with that 10% number, but I doubt you will see expenditures destined for the state near that number.

While this is a CA problem caused by a botched attempt at deregulation, don't kid yourself about this being a national issue.
