Does anyone seriously believe this rally is due to ANYTHING other than the gigantic Agere IPO that needs to be floated to keep LU from collapsing? Throw in a huge helping of quarterly brokerage/fund statements that have to be finished by Wednesday in most cases and Friday in some cases, and you have an immense need on the part of the big guys to keep the market running. The actual news for all these companies just gets worse and worse- Cisco CEO saying he doesn't expect to recover anytime soon, and in fact he thinks "its the fastest collapse in earnings of any company in history".. Yet- magically his stock is being bid up. yawn.. I'll buy more poots on wednesday.
