This is a wooden table -- really an old homemade counter -- in the kitchen. I don't think kitchen surfaces and old carpets are, like, compatible!

I've stripped and sanded furniture, including carved wood, before, and do know how. But I'd only do it in the summer; and this isn't stripping quality in any case.

And I really do LIKE painted wood.

And that would be an awful lot for us to spend on covering a small table.
