Petz: Anyone here remember the AMD DX50 chips? Man, they were tough to get to work because the bus was way overclocked.

Yes, I had a 50MHz AMD 486DX... but I never had any problems with it and it beat my friends' 66DX2 in almost all benchmarks ("almost" due to his 15ns L2 cache, where mine only had 20ns).

"I thought Blue Lightning 486's were fabbed for AMD, probably because Engel used to mock IBM's Blue Lightning technology when AMD was licensing IBM technology in the K6 days."

Well, IBM had enough problems with their Blue Lightning technology that it caused Cyrix some major grief early on.
