I think equally every person over 40 is responsible for the government they have. By then, they have had the chance either to change it, to go where there is a government they want, or to die trying to change it. If they have done none of the above, they have de facto chosen and deserve it.

I disagree esp. when you take your statement exactly literally where someone fighting the government would only be seen to have not chosen it if they die in the effort.

Also I think one can agree with the overall system but not accept that the government has a right to do everything it is doing or wants to do. In a democratic republic the best way to fight is with votes, contributions to causes, and arguments. I think violence should be reserved for extreme cases.

In any case I still have over 7 more years until I turn 40 so I guess I am not responsible for our government yet by your standerd. <g>
