Jacob, this is how AMAT price responded to SEMI data the last two cycles near the floor.

i17.yimg.com
notice how confirmation of bookings bottom caused a price spike.

i17.yimg.com
this time investors didn't wait for bottom confirmation. Price started a steady climb ahead of announcement of the SEMI bookings bottom number.

Bookings and btb bottomed the same month. SEMI data is shown when it became AVAILABLE, i.e. on the 20th day or nearest higher day. Buyers don't want to wait for bottom confirmation!

The chemical mechanical planarization systems manufacturer also reported a third-quarter loss of $13.8 million, or 46 cents a share, which beat the consensus estimate of a 52-cent loss. Revenue for the quarter totaled $56.7 down 22 percent compared with the $73.1 million reported in the year-ago period. Shares closed up 19 cents to $7."
