Conservatives want everyone to be given an environment around which success is possible. And where opportunities are plentiful

By magic, or are they willing to fund the effort? For effort is required. By nature inequalities form and become entrenched.

Conservatism in its pure form, is willing to conserve traditional inequalities of wealth and power, while Liberalism in its pure form seeks to eradicate them. Both Conservatism and Liberalism work badly in pure forms.

When you say, "Liberals simply don't realize that redistribution, works a lot worse than encouraging entrepreneurship" this is the old Liberalism=Socialism argument. If I confiscate every dollar you make over $50,000 per year, that is redistribution and is a terrible idea. If I make you pay taxes and use some of those taxes to support public schools and libraries where all children can learn to read, is that redistribution? If so, I'll support it.

Any working system will be produced by a compromise. Too many people in this country seem to believe that the American system of the late 20th century, from which they benefited, is in place by some law of nature and does not need funding or defense.
