Scumbria, you forget that I was once a Clinton supporter, all the way until the Monica Lewinsky scandal when he lost my trust once and for all. (And yes, I was aware of his past, but that WAS in the past.)

I don't dispute his accomplishments. Certainly there are many good principles Clinton believes in, even if it goes against the grain. But it's going to take a long time before he wins back my trust, and his recent actions including the pardon fiasco tells me that he doesn't deserve it anymore.

Meanwhile, although I think Bush has a lot more character integrity than Clinton, it bothers me that he recently reneged on a campaign pledge to reduce greenhouse gases. Bush never pretended to be an environmentalist in the first place, but I have to wonder now whether he will even make a half-hearted attempt to keep his other promises in the future.

Yes, I know, I hold presidents to rather high standards. But I'd rather be disappointed constantly than compromise those standards.
