You seem blissfully unaware of the total domination of the school system as well as society by the PC lunatics. I don't see what your example has to do with PC. Overprotectiveness isn't a PC issue. It's about safety and lawsuits, seems to me. PC is about oversensitivity of ethnic, gender, religious, etc. groups. I think PC is just plain silly. While it's important to be appreciative and respectful of differences among people, the standard of behavior must not be determined by the thinnest skinned among us. Controlling speech does little to increase real mutual understanding, it does not break down barriers, and it makes a joke of serious attempts to do so. I agree with you that it still permeates the schools but I think its influence has stopped expanding and is on the wane. It will take a while to flush it out and it probably won't disappear completely, but I really think it's heyday has passed. It would disappear faster if its opponents would quit resurfacing it with their opposition. Karen
