I can vouch for the fact that W2K is a dog with 64 MB. If Microsoft recommends 300 MHz and 128 MB, better double both.

And I find that it runs really nicely with 320 Mbytes of Ram on a Celeron 333.

I wonder the same. That would be an important number to determine a future upgrade cycle.

I'm hoping that Windows XP has some compelling features, and is introduced with the same marketing hoopla that Microsoft used to do so well in the past. I don't think that the increased stability alone will prompt widespread upgrades, despite the complaints about existing Windows OS. Maybe I'm wrong.

Anyway, XP it can't hurt.
