I understand, but understand that that would have required her to quit her job and possibly go onto welfare. She had a daughter to support, and did not possess the skills to get a 9-5 job that would allow her to make ends meet so that she could go to school.

Hers may have been a more unique situation than most, and the course of action you laid out is sensible. However, some get trapped both by their situation and their own inertia. Breaking out can be hard, especially those with a family. Day care alone is enough to break most; adding 'night care' to that while attending night classes is near impossible. Without some help, many in these situations seemed doomed to continue in low paying jobs just to make ends meet.

For some, it may be too late. Breaking the cycle may have to wait for their next generation. That's where some assistence in the form of need-based scholarships and admissions placeholders becomes crucial, in my opinion.

A post to show my soft compasionate feminine side and rag on the sport I love to make fun of.

Oh my God, what a hideous tragedy. All the poor children forced to witness this brutal
horror. Call out the councilors. A beautiful free innocent pigeon was flying out in the open
and a vicious uncaring picture threw a fast ball and puff an explosion of feathers and a once
beautiful noble pigeon now mangled his life cruelly taken because of the evil sinister game
baseball. I just saw this terrible scene on TV. Oh the pigeannity.

How is the poor pigeon supposed to know the danger when all the players stand around not
moving, not doing anything for 99% of the time. Yes I see it now those evil baseball players
just watch and wait and a noble innocent bird comes along and thwock. The poor children
exposed to this vicious conduct and cruelty.
