I don't know. I don't pretend to know all the details. Ask Scumbria. He seems to have a detailed knowledge of all of IBM's indiscretions including copies of contracts, extortion threats, blood money, and the sort. Probably has it all on tape. He's your man.

That was IBM's deal with Intel. IBM could not even sell processors that they developed, such as Blue Lightning, without the mobo. Apparently there was a loophole that allowed them to sell naked processors licensed from third parties (such as NexGen, Cyrix, and AMD).

No. Or if they did, they violated it. I bought several loose IBM 6x86 P200s at computer shows.
