I've read that 3G technology will definitely improve things, but it may be quite some time before the "roll out" is here. And even then, only in select areas for a while.

I'm holding out for lower prices and better technology before making my purchase and by that time there should be mannnnny more choices/options out there. Hell, I still haven't bought my first videocamera 'cuz they keep changing/improving the technology there... and ya know, I don't think I've missed not having one. Maybe once I have kids... ;)

been using wireless Inet for a year

tried TDMA, CDMA, CDPD is bar far the cheapest fastest
Richocet would be great, but its very limited
CDPD is in about 30% of country

modems are $$ ($400 for a Spider 2)
service is cheap ($30 a month unlimited)

its truly a wireless WAN and works incredibly well
