If you are sick enough, or in enough pain, you just want it to end. Death seems a small price to pay. I have been sick enough twice in my life that I would quite happily have died. I remember those times. There was no fear. There was even hope that death would end what I was feeling. I thought everyone had been to that place. Maybe not. It's a good place to be to put life in perspective.
