I believe it will happen, just not all at once. I think this is the best approach. First they must digest, or regurgitate the 4,000 workers being put out to pasture, and once done, they can then figure out where to cut another 4,000 jobs. Remember that Ericsson, unlike U.S. companies, isn't used to lay-offs en masse and is wise to break their work into smaller more manageable pieces. It's better for worker morale that all the blood letting be done at once, if you have the expertise.
