elmatudor. Small farms were s problem here. One of the most profitsble fsarm businesses was the "not raise it business". The US government paid fsrmers not to raise hogs ror example and wheat farmers to put land in the "soil bank" rather than plant it. This was necessary to some extent because the govt subsidized prices higher than the world market price. Thus gov simulteaeously spent money to tweak the supply curve and the demand curve.
