Seeing that in Indiana also. The local indoor mall is struggling, while new strip-malls with chain store restaurants in the out lots keep popping up.

Anyone notice that CRUDE is threatening to break out of a 6 week downtrend here?

We may see a retest of the recent market bottom here soon- but unless we break to new lows, I will be hitting the GLUE BONG, and BTD.. hohoho

You're in little d? I have relatives there that could use a good talking to. I keep telling them it's not to late to bail out, but I hear it isn't possible to go much lower so we must be near a bottom.

<<they mentioned that today, there are 7 empty stores in the mall. apparently about 2 years ago the mall was completely rented out.
and this is in the most 'prosperous' area of greater seattle.>>

Here in the metro-Denver area there seems to be a trend away from malls(mauls) and toward more open space shopping centers. I saw it in DFW area also. Could it be some of this is also happening there?

well (to me anyway) what makes the situtation with bellevue square kind of disconcerting is that... just outside there are multiple construction projects going on, all around the town. as a matter of fact, bellevue way and n.e. 8th are clogged most of the time with lane closures so the construction vehicles can do whatever it is they're doing.

it's as if all of this new construction is, 'a day late and a dollar short.'

i would think that bellevue square should be fully rented in good times, regardless of the advent of strip malls.

they recently built a new ramp on state route 520 at n.e. 40th street.. the joke is that it was built so people can more easily leave msft.

i will have to go over and take a look at crossroads maul and see what the vacancy situation is there... closer to the epicenter of the msft phenomenon.
