When SDMC was first proposed as a standard, the descriptions of how it worked noted that a personal identification, such as a credit card number, would be attached to a file to be downloaded. If that file were to be copied, the SDMC would look for a matching credit card number (i.e., the number of the user who presumably was charged a fee for the original download). If no matching credit card number were found, then the file could not be transferred, thereby protecting the copyright. I've never seen any description of the technical features, nor do I know if this is the total extent of the security provisions.

undefined as of now

Tumbleweed,

Very well put! I think this translates into undefined revenues, hence undefined EPS - which in turns translates into a very well defined LOWER STOCK PRICE.

I can see the customer asking the salesman now..."Do you have any undefined products to protect I don't know what from I don't know who, which works in a way which nobody knows about. And I don't want anything cheap either. I want a very expensive undefined product that takes up very little space. You know, a product that I have no use whatsoever now, but I may find a use for in the future?"

Salesman: "Why you are in luck today sir because Sandisk has just started shipping the best yet undefined product on the market. Not only that, but it is expensive and has no use whatsoever to date. How many would you like?"

And they laugh at Bezo over at Amazon.com for HIS business model. Ha! He can't hold a candle to this!
