IBM: They're squeezing internally like crazy to make the number.

High end workstation business probably not too bad, and they're getting market share from SUNW and others. Software business also ok. Their internal penny pinching doesn't bode well for their suppliers and if Europe slows significantly, they're going down.

In other words, they're playing the wrong game. Instead of guiding lower and cleansing out, they're trying to keep their stock options in the money. Investors will pay in the long run.
