Haseltine also has been quoted as saying that CRA's software for detecting genes was faulty, and that their gene count is very low. He estimates at least 90,000 genes. Many prominent scientists have supported his view. It looks like Eric Lander is covering his bases to protect his reputation. Will Incyte and HGSI look better if Venter is proved wrong???????
