Scumbria, I have seen indications that 0.11u processes are no faster than 0.15u processes. Dominated by interconnect capacitance? Pravin.

Scumbria, I have seen indications that 0.11u processes are no faster than 0.15u processes. I remember a discussion some time ago about about CPU being either speed path limited or heat limited. P6 is now apparently speed path limited, K7 is heat limited. So a shrink of these 2 cores should benefit K7 more, since the one thing that you can definitely count on is lower power consumption. How does this translate to P4? Joe
